“I was taught that sex was bad before I was married and now that I’m married I’m finding it hard to just flip that script and think about it as something awesome and good’ This session is specifically designed for churches with the intent of presenting sex in a positive light as well as in a way that is biblically informed. It aims to replace judgmentalism, repression, guilt, blame and shame with God’s good vision for sex which is filled with grace to make space for anyone’s journey. I’m hoping that such a compelling presentation of sexual wellness as God designed it might directly point to a loving creator and inspire awe. When we practically equip couples and individuals with a healthy attitude and understanding of sex and sexuality it protects against violence, nurtures and strengthens relationships, fosters sexual wellbeing and enjoyment, opens up honest and open dialogue. It also lovingly allows us to reach out to those different from ourselves in love and not fear as we paint a vision for sex and intimacy that goes far beyond the physical – to the belonging and intimacy we can have with a living God that loves perfectly.
